Global Regulatory T-Cell Research from 2000 to 2015: A Bibliometric Analysis

Abstract: We aimed to analyze the global scientific output of regulatory T-cell (Treg) research and built a model to qualitatively and quantitatively evaluate publications from 2000 to 2015. Data were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) of Thomson Reuters on January 1, 2016. The bibliometric method and Citespace III were used to analyze authors, journals, publication outputs, institutions, countries, research areas, research hotspots, and trends. In total, we identified 35,741 publications on Treg r… Show more

“…(1) The publications follow almost linear increase from 2005 onwards. While this pattern has been observed in numerous bibliometric analyses of well-established research fields [8,9,57], it indicates the global efforts to combat epidemics [58][59][60] and pandemics [61] as they occur. (2) The top three productive countries were USA, England, and Canada, respectively.…”

“…CiteSpace III uses annual rings to represent the citation frequency of the object in different time periods [6]. The research contents include a co-citation analysis, co-citation cluster analysis, high-yield authors, outstanding research institutions, and their cooperative networks of the military health and medicine study.…”
