Abstract:Steady-state pair correlations between inelastic granular beads in a vertically shaken, quasi twodimensional cell can be mapped onto the particle correlations in a truly two-dimensional reference fluid in thermodynamic equilibrium. Using Granular Dynamics simulations and Iterative Ornstein-Zernike Inversion, we demonstrate that this mapping applies in a wide range of particle packing fractions and restitution coefficients, and that the conservative reference particle interactions are simpler than it has been r… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
