Graphene‐based composite with microwave absorption property prepared by in situ reduction

Abstract: Binary composite of graphene/poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) with microwave absorption property is prepared by in situ reduction process. Graphite oxide (GO) is prepared from flake graphite by modified Hummers' method and further dispersed in distilled water to get GO solution. Then, PEO powder is slowly added into GO solution to get GO/PEO solution, and graphene/PEO composites is prepared via a facile and quick reduction process in GO/PEO solution. PEO and graphene/PEO composites are characterized by scanning elec… Show more

“…Overall, PVA/PANI (10 wt%) blend with 0.1 wt% FLG exhibited the best EMI shielding efficiency owing to their highest values of ε′ and ε″. It is also noteworthy that PVA/PANI (10 wt%)/FLG (0.1 wt%) is showing promising total shielding efficiency at very low thickness of the samples ∼0.1 mm which is much less than the reported thicknesses of the samples for EMI shielding behaviors .…”

“…Zihlif et al pre-pared polyethylene oxide composite with iron ($63 lm) filler in different composition and analyzed the electrical properties of the composite in which the measured values of dielectric constant and dielectric loss increases with increasing iron contents at 100 kHz frequency [17]. A binary composite of graphene/polyethylene oxide (PEO) was obtained by in situ reduction process and studied its improved thermal stability and microwave absorption properties [19]. The magnetic and electrical properties of polypyrrole composite with iron filler attached to acrylamido-2-me thyl-1-propanesulfonic acid were studied by Basavaraja group [20].…”

“…Graphene, two‐dimensional (2D) sheet composed of sp 2 carbon atoms arranged in a honeycomb structure, has been explored to be effective filler for polymer matrix composites due to some of its extraordinary properties . It has been reported to possess excellent mechanical strength (Young's modulus of about 1 TPa, ultimate strength of 130 GPa), large specific surface area (theoretical limit: 2,630 m 2 /g) and low gas permeability.…”
