Graphitic Carbon Nitride: Preparation, Properties and Applications in Energy Storage

Abstract: Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C 3 N 4) has received much attention in recent years due to its unique optical and electrochemical properties. In this review, preparation, properties and some applications of g-C 3 N 4 in energy storage are summarized. In order to improve the specific surface area of g-C 3 N 4 , hard and soft template, template-free and exfoliation methods are usually used. The properties of g-C 3 N 4 including stability, optical, photoelectrochemical and electrochemical properties are introduced. … Show more

“…Non-metallic conductive materials, such as C [26][27][28],CNTs [22,29], graphene [30][31][32] and others [33], have achieved excellent absorption performance in the field of EMW absorption compared to metallic materials due to their light mass and high electric loss. However, the new conductive materials MXene show greater absorption advantages.…”

“…g-C 3 N 4 possess distinct properties including high thermal and chemical stability, high refractive index, good thermal conductivity, excellent photoluminescence characteristics, good toughness, and photoelectrochemical and optoelectronic properties. 84 g-C 3 N 4 exhibits significant optical properties, which are acquired by using UV−vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), and as an inorganic semiconductor, g-C 3 N 4 exhibits a typical absorption band at approximately 465 nm. This medium band gap is evidenced by the yellow color of g-C 3 N 4 , consistent with previous reports.…”

“…One is focusing on the refinement of the conductivity, structure, and surface morphology of pure fiber or CPs. The other is the fabrication of composites by combining fiber/CPs with other dielectric loss materials such as graphene, 126 , 127 , 128 , 129 , 130 , 131 carbon nanotubes 132 , 133 , 134 , 135 , 136 , 137 and others, as well as the magnetic materials, e.g., ferrite, 138 , 139 , 140 magnetic nanoparticles. The aim of these approaches is to enhance the impedance matching and EMW absorption performances by taking advantages of the synergistic effects on the dissipation of the EMW energy.…”
