Abstract:A system to evaluate several facets of hand function for neuroprostheses-mediated tasks is proposed. It includes a platform that serves as a test bench, sensors for dynamometry, electromyography, sensorized glove, and interactive objects. The system methodically locates and assesses the motor points along the forearm, evaluates stimulation-induced fatigue, measures digit motion and forces exerted during ADL grasps, and evaluates nerve excitability to advance electrode designs.
