Abstract:Iodinated graphene is a promising 2D material with unique physical and chemical characteristics. A new synthesis method that combines iodine intercalation and surface reduction of graphite sheets in a single step was developed. This method uses NaIO4 and m‐CPBA to efficiently incorporate iodine and selectively remove oxygen from the graphene network at room temperature.
