Abstract:Dermoid cysts are common cutaneous developmental anomalies that occur due to the entrapment of ectodermal elements during embryonic closure. While the exact origin of dermoid cysts is unknown, they are theorized to originate from multipotent embryonic stem cells or translocated epithelial cells.
