“…Systematic studies realized with 6T and DH‐6T as active layers in OTFTs demonstrated that relatively high mobilities can be reached with polycrystalline organic films (µ = 0.002 cm 2 V −1 s −1 for 6T and µ = 0.050 cm 2 V −1 s −1 for DH‐6T) 15, 16. Higher charge carrier mobilities, as high as 0.33 cm 2 V −1 s −1 , have been reported for vacuum‐deposited films of unsubstituted 8T 17. Following these results, some strategies emerged to improve OTFT performance.…”

“…This is contrary to the lack of correlation of mobility with conjugation length observed with the a-nThiophene (a-nT) series of molecules, where n ¼ 4, 6, and 8, namely the quarterthiophene, sexithiophene, and octithiophene molecules, respectively. [28,29] Garnier and co-workers conclude that increasing the oligomer length beyond a-4T does not result in any increase in mobility. [30] Locklin and co-workers also report no increase in mobility going from the phenyl-bithiophenephenyl series to the phenyl-terthiophene-phenyl series.…”
