Guided-wave behavior in complex media and applications to planar microwave devices

Abstract: A review is provided of recent theoretical, material and physical concept developments in guided wave behavior in complex media and their impact on device applications in the microwave and millimeter wave frequency regimes. Use of ferrite, semiconductor, chiral, magnetoplasma, superconductor or ferroelectric materials in microwave planar devices are examined. Planar structures include hybrid circuit configurations and momolithic integrated circuits.
