According to Tshitangano et al (2015), the increasing rates of new cases of TB, MDR-TB and Extensively Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (XDR-TB) is becoming a major obstacle to achieving TB control and eradication by the year 2050 as stated by the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) number 6 and STOP TB partnership.
