Gurvitis syndrome: the dark shade of hematemesis

Abstract: Gurvitis syndrome, also known as acute esophageal necrosis (AEN) or "black esophagus," is a rare syndrome characterized by necrotic lesions affecting the mucosa and submucosa, mainly in the distal part of the esophagus.
