“…Parameters of the Bouhanna multifactorial classification are assessed, including bald and hairy area size, scalp laxity and thickness, hair density, colour, and length 14 (Figure 8). The phototrichogram, introduced by Bouhanna in 1983, 15,16 objectively evaluates the scalp using a digital camera (Figure 9). Currently, tricholab Ⓡ and trichoscale Ⓡ evaluations are used.…”

“…In the scalp region (AU 5 ), the locus S 1 is located on the center of the forehead located at 3 cun above the gabelar region (Yintang point) which corresponds to the midpoint of the hair frontline (HFL) for baldness correction -hair implant procedure [6,33,34] [ Figure 8].…”

“…A simple drawing of the outline of a head in the 1984 text, Hair Transplant Surgery , by Norwood and Shiell 1 clearly designates the top of the head as the “crown” and the descending slope in back as the “vertex.” Buchwald and Konior's 2 1997 text, Contemporary Hair Transplant Surgery , features a similar drawing, with the same designations as Norwood and Shiell's—namely, with the crown located at the top‐center of the scalp. In Bouhanna and Dardour's 3 1996 text, Hair Replacement Surgery , the “height of crown” is measured from the inferior hair margin above the ear up to the superior edge of the parietal fringe, thus indicating that the author clearly envisions the crown literally as meaning the “top apex‐point of the head.” Bouhanna and Dardour also refer to the “length of the vertex” as that distance which extends from the front hairline all the way to the edge of the superior occipital fringe. Accordingly, we can only assume that they consider the “vertex” to be the entire bald top of the head, a broad definition indeed!…”
