Halal tourism is a new segment in tourism studies that have received attention and has now proliferated. Past studies have not been so deep in treading global scientific literature on halal tourism studies on tracking its evolution and trends among scientific journal which focuses on social science discipline. Therefore, this article is based on a systematic literature review analysis of halal tourism in social science discipline as an effort to improve our understanding of previous halal tourism studies. Data were obtained from the academic database Scopus, 31 articles were obtained about halal tourism in social science discipline, and the data period was collected from the beginning to the end of 2020. The data is illustrated using two applications, namely NVIVO and VOSViewer, as the primary tools for analyze qualitative data, which selected; (VOSViewer; Keyword Co-occurrence Network Maps and Trend (KCNM/T)), (NVIVO; Hierarchy Chart (HC), word frequencies (WF), and Explore Diagram Analysis (EDA)). The results showed that, from 31 journals, Stephenson (2014) has the most influence with high cited, besides, Tourism Management as a journal name that identified many articles published there, and Routledge as a publisher with a high total journal on Halal Tourism, and Indonesia as a country that high mention time. Specifically, various approaches and distributions based on methodology, objectives, and geography were the research's focus. Recent trends and the dominant frequency of words from the study of halal tourism have shown several scholars' high interest. In the halal tourism studies on social sciences discipline, previous scholars have carried out many different research segments, namely, tourism issues, product issues, destination issues, travel issues, service issues, and market issues. Equestrian and archery sports tourism is a popular tourist destination among Indonesian Muslim communities and is a new segment of religion-based tourism. Therefore, this study aims to determine the model of tourists' interpretation of Daarus Sunnah Equestrian tourism, which is one of the first tourism destinations in Indonesia that presents riding and archery. This research method is based on a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The results of this study conclude that the model of tourists' interpretation of Daarus Sunnah Equestrian tourism has a variety of meanings, among which are interpreted as sports tourism destinations, religious tourism destinations, have tourist communication attractiveness, and as Islamic missionary activities. The formation of religious meanings and experiences in tourists is inseparable from the role of tourism managers who present the message of Islamic da'wah through various media and ways of delivering messages, both verbal and non-verbal. * Corresponding author the results obtained have an impact that is quite effective in order to open relationships of interaction between fellow tourists. The hospitality experience occurs in the interaction between loyal visitors and new visitors, as well as interactions between visitors with tour guides. The experience of open communication is created through mutual respect, mutual trust and brotherhood. This open communication usually involves loyal tourists with tour guides. The openness of communication itself is a critical success factor in the process of social interaction (Johnson, 1990). The openness of communication can be held if it fulfills several factors, including the presence of safety experiences, general preferences, and social backgrounds. In the end, if open communication has been established among fellow tourists or with tour guides, it will create a meaningful tourism experience and create a good impression for tourists so that it impacts on decision making and tourist decisions in the future. Ignorance experiences consist of experience ignored by fellow tourists, waiting for each other's initiative to start an interaction, and not greet each other. Ignorance is one of the processes of interaction that occurs between fellow tourists, but ignorance is a communication experience that is not expected by tourists. Ignorance usually involves old tourists and new tourists, and this happens because between them had never known each other before and adapted concern from one party when there is an initiative to start an interaction, because it is feared that it will disturb the comfort and privacy.The experience of caring is one of the factors in the implementation of effective communication and the establishment of a positive reciprocal relationship between fellow tourists so that the experience of caring communication is one of the critical factors that determine the actions and way of looking at tourists. In 2018 the central government strove for the provinces of West Java to be certified as Halal tourism areas at the international level. To achieve these targets, they required a development model for halal tourism in West Java. The purpose of this study is to explore the development of halal tourism in West Java by using problem and solution models. The method used is a mixture of qualitative and quantitative research using the Analytical Networking Process (ANP). The results of this study indicate that halal tourism in West Java faces a number of problems, which can broadly be grouped in the following categories: Government; Society; Hotels, Travel, and Halal Food. The main problem from the aspect of government is the rules of implementation, from the aspect of society is knowledge, and from the aspect of hotels, travel, and halal food is halal food. The solution to the problem of developing halal tourism in West Java is divided into 3 solutions. The main solution from the aspect of government is infrastructure, from the aspect of society is knowledge, and from the aspect of hotels, travel, and halal food is halal food.
