“…Hallux valgus (HV) is a common condition with a high prevalence in adults (Poleshuck, Bair, Kroenke, Damush, Krebs, & Giles, ) that affects the forefoot and causes subluxation of the first metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint due to the lateral deviation of the great toe and medial first metatarsal (Hurn, Vicenzino, & Smith, ; Munuera, Dominguez, Polo, & Rebollo, ). Its progression is multifactorial, complex, and poorly understood (Hecht & Lin, ). It is sometimes accompanied by the presence of pain, keratotic lesions, muscle weakness in the area, changes in the lesser toes, increased mediolateral postural sway, variation in plantar pressures, and difficulty in putting shoes on (Bascarević, Vukasinović, Bascarević, Stevanović, Spasovski, & Janicić, ; Martínez‐Nova et al ., ).…”
