BACKGROUND Epidemiological studies have long been used to develop infection transmission prevention, but exact patterns of touch behaviours and transportation choices (COVID-19 community spread contributors) were previously unknown. AIM To investigate individual risk behaviour levels with respect to local COVID-19 infection levels. METHODS A longitudinal field study recorded behaviours of individuals leaving medical facilities following the New York State’s PAUSE order. A subset of that data was analyzed herein (4,793 records, 16 facilities, 23 rd March – 17 th May 2020). Touched objects and transportation choices were compared over time using chi-square tests (p < 0.05 significance threshold). FINDINGS Over eight weeks, touching progressively decreased but for-hire vehicle usage increased. In week 1, 60.4% of subjects touched at least one object: a building’s door handle (21.8%); traffic light, railing, or parking meter (5.6%); shared object (19.7%, e.g. vehicle’s door handle); personal object (13.9%, e.g. cell phone); or themselves (0.7%). Certain touch points, however, remained. Throughout the study, public transportation ridership remained steady (about 20%); for-hire car usage increased from 0% in week one to 7% in week eight, mirroring a 7% decrease in personal vehicle usage (from 34% to 27%). Touching and transportation patterns varied significantly by facility. CONCLUSIONS Inconsistent trends in risk related behaviour were documented in the eight weeks following a NYC PAUSE order. Namely, while overall touching decreased 25%, there was no appreciable change in cell phone usage, and for-hire vehicles usage increased 7%.

This paper presents a design proposal of an Isolation Recovery House (IRH), an adaptable modular isolation care unit specifically designed for patients with mild-to-moderate conditions as a response to an infectious disease outbreak. In particular, the study responds to the current COVID-19 pandemic, which urges the installation of isolation facilities as quickly as possible. The study offers a design solution that could expand the capacity for isolation facilities, especially in underdeveloped or developing countries, such as Indonesia, with many regions located further away from big cities. The design proposal assists existing hospitals in reducing excessive workload due to the surge in patients and control possible in-hospital transmission. The study began by investigating criteria for designing and constructing quickly-built isolation facilities that comply with the standards for isolation space, particularly COVID-19 patients. The criteria, namely quick construction, adaptability to various contexts, and meets the minimum isolation space design standards, formed the basis for proposing the IRH design. This paper argues that as a ready-toimplement design, IRH could be an option to improve health-care services during the pandemic.

The initial appearance of the Corona Virus is thought to be pneumonia, with symptoms similar to flu in general. These symptoms include coughing, fever, fatigue, shortness of breath and no appetite. The global COVID-19 pandemic has created new problems for the nation-state, especially regarding how the state's efforts to prevent and stop the spread of this virus from spreading. Genting Tanah Village is a village located in Kembang Janggut District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. The selection and determination of Genting Tanah Village as the research location was based on the consideration that this village was one of the villages that had never been a red zone during the pandemic. Data collection was carried out by direct survey to respondents who were at the research location. Sampling was carried out randomly, with 35 respondents from all areas of the Genting Tanah village. Data collection was carried out by directly interviewing respondents in order to obtain more valid information and to deepen the discussion. The variables used consisted of religion, education, work, income, social and economic interactions. The Covid-19 pandemic has not affected this pattern of life.
