Abstract:The maximal consistent blocks technique, adopted from discrete mathematics, describes the maximal collection of objects, in which all objects are indiscernible in terms of available information. In this paper, we estimate the total possible number of maximal consistent blocks and prove that the number of such blocks may grow exponentially with respect to the number of attributes for incomplete data with “do not care” conditions. Results indicate that the time complexity of some known algorithms for computing m… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
