“…For patients developing systemic GVHD, we used a variety of standard immunosuppressive schemes including corticosteroids, rituximab, alemtuzumab, and tacrolimus [21]. Conditioning regimens employed at our institution varied according to baseline diagnosis and have been reported elsewhere [22][23][24]).…”

“…The Baltimore group used high‐dose PT‐Cy and reduced‐intensity low‐dose total body irradiation (TBI) conditioning to prevent GvHD, which resulted in a lower incidence of cGvHD and TRM . These results were confirmed in subsequent studies in adults and children . The PT‐Cy approach has the advantage of not needing any ex vivo graft manipulation, making it a simple procedure that can be performed even by inexperienced staff, especially in the setting of limited resources.…”

“…Promising results have been shown in pediatric patients with malignant and nonmalignant disorders, with low rates of GvHD and improved immune reconstitution using an ex vivo αβ + TCD platform and B cell depletion; however, there are very limited haplo‐HSCT PT‐Cy data, with studies restricted by a low number of samples . This retrospective and multicenter study aimed to compare and analyze the feasibility and outcome of a Spanish cohort of 2 haplo‐HSCT platforms in children and adolescents with high‐risk hematological malignancies: PT‐Cy and ex vivo TCD grafts.…”

“…The main differences with our report are that the donor of our patients was younger and smaller than the recipients and that the source of stem cells was peripheral blood. The conditioning regimens were different; we used a combination of fludarabine, cyclophosphamide and busulfan IV, which we have shown in a previous study to be effective for the achievement of engraftment in 92% of the cases [ 14 ].…”
