Abstract:Background: Metrorrhagia is defined as irregular uterine bleeding occurring between normal menstrual cycles. Unlike normal menstruation, metrorrhagia is irregular in frequency, duration, and volume. Understanding the etiology of metrorrhagia requires reviewing the hormonal regulation of the normal menstrual cycle.
