HCC screening behavior and IR interventions at a tertiary transplant center

Abstract

HAT occurred on the first postoperative day in 8/30 patients. Endovascular intervention was attempted in 4 patients and succeeded in 3 patients (75%). Surgery was attempted in 4 patients and succeeded in 3 patients (75%). Endovascular complications occurred in 2/4 patients (50%) bleeding occurred in 1 patient, and anastomotic rupture occurred in 1 patient. Conclusions: Endovascular intervention for the mangement of HAT in the first postoperative day after LDLT carries a considerable risk of potential complications related to the technique and thrombolytic therapy. However, it is feasible and can be attempted for graft salvage if surgery is considered futile.
