Abstract: The human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) pUS2 glycoprotein exploits the host’s endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-associated degradation (ERAD) pathway to degrade major histocompatibility complex class I (MHC-I) and prevent antigen presentation.
