Headache in Behçet’s disease: case reports and literature review

Abstract

Dal punto di vista epidemiologico, la malattia ha una distribuzione geografica peculiare, essendo maggiormente rappresentata nelle zone che si trovano lungo una fascia geografica compresa tra i 30-45° di latitudine Nord, corrispondente alla antica "via della seta". Tale area si estende dal Giappone ai paesi del bacino del Mediterraneo. La prevalenza più elevata si osserva in Turchia (80-370/100.000), Iran e Giappone (70/100.000), seguita da alcuni paesi del bacino Mediterraneo: Italia, Grecia, Arabia Saudita. La malattia è, invece, più rara nell'Europa centrosettentrionale e negli Stati Uniti (0.12-0.3/ 100.000) (2, 3).
