Heat and Mass Transfer by Unsteady Natural Convection over a Moving Vertical Plate Embedded in a Saturated Porous Medium with Chemical Reaction, Soret and Dufour Effects

Abstract: The thermal-diffusion and diffusion-thermo effects on heat and mass transfer by transient free convection flow of over an impulsively started isothermal vertical plate embedded in a saturated porous medium were numerically investigated, considering a homogeneous chemical reaction of first order. The transient, nonlinear and coupled governing equations are solved using an implicit finite-difference scheme. The effects of various parameters on the transient velocity, temperature, and concentration profiles as we… Show more

“…In order to verify the validity and accuracy of the present analysis, the results for the mass transfer āˆ’šœ‘ ā€² (0) were compared with those reported by jawad et al, (25). The comparison in the above cases is found to be in excellent agreement as shown in Table 2.…”

“…Similarly, the effects of Dufour and Soret were reported on different papers by (EI-Kabeir et al [14], Chamkha and Rashad [15], Rashad and Chamkha [16], EL-Kabeir et al [17] and Al-Mudhaf et al [18]. It was found that an enhancement in the Dufour number produced a reduction in the local Nusselt number but boosts the local Sherwood number.…”

“…Partha 25 researched the nonlinear natural convection in a permeable substance which is nonā€Darcy. Rashad et al 26 explored mass and heat transportā€free convective flow past a vertically movable surface incorporated into a saturated permeable material with a chemical reaction. Chamkha and Quadri 27 analyzed the concurrent transfer of heat and mass by the free convective flow on an upright permeable surface immersed in a homogeneous permeable material in the existence of effects of inertia and thermal dispersion.…”
