Heat Transfer Model for Metal Carbide Production

Abstract

Carbothermal reduction of silica and boric acid has been studied at laboratory scale in order to understand and improve the process efficiency. Mathematical models have also been developed to study the process, in particular the heat transfer aspect of it. Some interesting results have been presented here.
