Abstract:Direct nuclear reactions with radioactive ion beams represent an extremely powerful tool to extend the study of fundamental nuclear properties far from stability. These measurements require pure and dense targets to cope with the low beam intensities. The 3 He cryogenic target HeCTOr has been designed to perform direct nuclear reactions in inverse kinematics. Its high density of scattering centers (10 20 atoms/cm 2 ) makes it particularly suited for experiments where low-intensity radioactive beams are involve… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
