HEDR modeling approach: Revision 1

Abstract: The varying levels of dose reconstruction effort are shown in Table S-1. Table S-1 depicts the HEDR modeling methods that were selected to estimate dose for the various pathway and time periods. For example, for the mid-1940s the air pathway modeling sequence requires a very fine temporal resolution because the largest releases of radionuclides to the air occurred during that period. Progressively less detailed modeling efforts were used for the middle and later periods of Hanford Site operation because 1) low… Show more

Two other letter reports (Hall Iggla and Igglb) With 46,000 cubic-footboxes of retired records and more than 59,000 topical technical reports still in existence (the 40,000 in the Hanford Technical Library plus the 19,000 at WestinghouseHanford Company), it would be foolhardyto ever state that ALL recorded informationof potential interest and/or use to the project has been identified, retrieved, and made publicly available.…”

“…9 Sociologist Barbara Wyche has found that in the African-American community humor is generally thought of as a primary need, because 'If you're living with someone big, you have to tell a joke in order to survive'. 10 If that is true, then the gift of humor is more than merely a particular ability in an individual qua individual or a purely biologically-based group trait. Instead, it is also, in part at least, a sociocultural manifestation, mediated by a historical setting.…”
