Abstract: The role of the hematologist in the management of vascular anomalies is evolving. Several vascular tumors and malformations are associated with complex coagulation derangements. Kaposiform hemangioendothelioma or tufted angiomas may present with a consumptive coagulopathy known as the Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon (KMP).
