Abstract:Introduction: The Fontan procedure is used to treat congenital heart defects and has improved long-term survival. Long-term complications include liver disease due to congestive hepatopathy. Fontan-related cirrhosis can manifest with ascites, gastrointestinal bleeding and encephalopathy.
