Heterogeneous Waterborne Polyurethane Composite with Alternating Electromagnetic Layers for Absorption-Dominated Electromagnetic Interference Shielding

Abstract: Flexible waterborne polyurethane (WPU) electromagnetic interference (EMI) composites of heterogeneous alternating multilayer structure with conductive gradient were fabricated through the layer-by-layer stacking and hot-pressing methods. Combining the synergetic electromagnetic loss and interface polarization loss formed by the selective distribution of metallized chopped polyimide fiber (PI@Ni/Cu/Ni), reduced graphene oxide (rGO), and magnetic Fe3O4 fillers, as well as multilevel electromagnetic wave propagat… Show more

“…The S-parameter was used to calculate the T, A, and R of CPA aerogels. 38 Figure 4c illustrated that the R-value in CPA aerogels change with an increase in AgNWs content. This could be attributed to an exacerbation of the impedance mismatch caused by the increase in the electrical conductivity.…”

“…Hence, electromagnetic shielding materials have been developed to equip us against the burgeoning hazard. The microwave-shielding characteristics of the bioinspired/PS composites are depicted in Figure . The total shielding efficiency (SE T ) is calculated by the sum of the absorption (SE A ) and reflection (SE R ) shielding efficiencies. The shielding materials operating based on the absorption have been the hotspot, obtained by the tuned impedance matching. This phenomenon diminishes the pollution, emerging from the reflected waves from the absorber thresholds. , The plasma-engineered biowastes illustrate the moderate shielding features boosting the general applications of PS-based products.…”
