High Brightness and Easy Color Modulation in Lanthanide-Based Coordination Polymers with 5-Methoxyisophthalate as Ligand: Toward Emission Colors Additive Strategy

Abstract: International audienceReactions in water between lanthanide chlorides and the disodium salt of 5-methoxyisophthalic acid, Na2(mip)·7H2O, lead to the first three series of lanthanide-based coordination polymers based on this ligand. The first series contains only one compound with chemical formula [Ce(mip)3/2(H2O)5·2H2O]∞. The second series has general chemical formula [Ln(mip) (Hmip)(H2O)5·H2O]∞ with Ln = La–Ce. The last family is constituted by compounds with general chemical formula [Ln2(mip)3(H2O)8·4H2O]∞ w… Show more

“…Some of these applications require the use of hetero-lanthanide coordination polymers whose first example has been reported in 1994 by Zhou et al [38] Our group is involved in that field for more than a decade and the search of new ligands that lead to new hetero-lanthanide coordination polymers with original luminescence properties is a continuous concern. [39][40][41][42][43][44] This article is devoted to the study of hetero-lanthanide based coordination polymers with 4-carboxyphenylboronic acid (Hcpb) as ligand (Scheme 1). This ligand has been chosen because of its rode-like topology, its low toxicity [45] and its ability to behave as both a Lewis and a Bronstëd acids.…”

“…First azoxybenzene-3,3',5,5'-tetracarboxylate lanthanide coordination polymers [19][20] or optical [21][22][23][24] properties. Because of the unique optical properties of the lanthanide ions [25][26][27] much work has been devoted to the modulation of the intensity and color of the luminescence of lanthanide-based coordination polymers [28][29][30][31].…”
