High Resolution, Calibrated IR Emission Spectra from 80°N

Abstract: The need to study Arctic ozone depletion phenomena similar to that experienced over the Antarctic, has led to the installation of a 0.1 cm-1 resolution, absolutely calibrated, emission interferometer known as the Extended Atmospheric Emission Radiometric Interferometer (AERI-X). Earlier instruments of this type had a resolution of 1 cm-1, and while these instruments performed quite well, it was felt that higher resolution would benefit both stratospheric chemistry and radiative transfer measurements.
