High Resolution Mid-Infrared Range Determination through Photon Counting

Abstract: Up-conversion of 2.4 µm pulses to 737 µm was performed which allowed for range determination measurements with conventional Si-based detectors. Temporal resolution of 42 ps was achieved, allowing distinguishability between targets separated by few millimeters.
