“…Therefore, it seems that it is impossible to investigate the influence of the length of the bridging bis(terpyridine) ligands on the luminescence properties of the dinuclear Tb(III) complexes. However, it is reported by Zheng et al that the mononuclear Tb(III) complex [Tb(tppz)(acac)(NO 3 ) 2 ]·acac (acac = acetylacetone) has long τ and high QY (τ = 1.35 ms, QY 69%) in solid state . One might draw the same conclusion as for the Eu(III) analogues that the increase of the numbers of the Tb(III) centers might decrease the luminescence performances, such as τ and QY, of the Tb(III) complexes.…”

“…The three lanthanide complexes 1a–1c were synthesized with similar procedures, the molar ratio of tppz : Ln(NO 3 ) 3 ·6H 2 O ≈ 3 : 2, 0.327 mmol tppz was dissolved in 40 mL CHCl 3 and Ln(NO 3 ) 3 ·6H 2 O (0.214 mmol) dissolved in 20 mL acac, the two solutions were mixed together and let stand for 12 h, the mixture was filtered and the filtrate evaporated in a quiet environment. Four weeks later, crystals suitable for single crystal X-ray test were obtained by filtration [1] .…”
