Highly luminescent, stable, transparent and flexible perovskite quantum dot gels towards light-emitting diodes

Abstract: By controlling the hydrolysis of alkoxysilanes, highly luminescent, transparent and flexible perovskite quantum dot (QD) gels were synthesized. The gels could maintain the structure without shrinking and exhibited excellent stability comparing to the QDs in solution. This in situ fabrication can be easily scaled up for large-area/volume gels. The gels integrated the merits of the polymer matrices to avoid the non-uniformity of light output, making it convenient for practical LED applications. Monochrome and wh… Show more

“…Recently, hybrid perovskite material(ABX 3 , A = CH 3 NH 3 + or MA, HC(NH 2 ) 2 + or FA; B = Pb 2+ , Sn 2+ ; X = Cl − , Br − , I − ) has been widely used in solar cell, LED, visible light detection due to its high absorption coefficient, high charge carrier mobility, tunable bandgap and also has achieved a huge success in radiation detection . Many radiation detectors based on organic–inorganic perovskite single crystals have been synthesized and showed excellent performance .…”

“…113 Unlike thermal injection and LARP methods, in situ growth of perovskite NCs provides excellent control of the size and dimension of the perovskite materials on the substrate by spin-coating precursor solution or controlled drying or swelling techniques. 139,140 After several years of development, researchers have explored in situ synthesis of different strategies, such as hard template-assisted in situ fabrication, 69,141 NC pinning, 2 organic ammonium-assisted in situ manufacturing, 142 blended spin coating, 143 controlled drying, 144 swelling-deswelling microencapsulation, 145 microfluidic spinning, 146 and in situ fabrication of perovskite NCs embedded in a crystal matrix. 147 As shown in Figure 6, we choose some representative works to introduce these methods.…”

“…On the basis of this APTES mechanism, in 2017, Sun's group further developed their Si-O-Si network strategy and successfully embedded CsPbX 3 QDs into organic silica gel matrix via a HI of APTES and perovskite precursor Cs-oleate by turns for excellent flexibility, transparecy and enhanced stability. And since the organic silica matrix was chemically bonded to the QDs, this composite structure could be well maintained without shrinking [81]. On the other path, in 2019, Cao et al further simplified the traditional APTES method to realize that no complex operation other than stirring was needed during the whole process ( Figure 2b).…”
