Highly stable organic–inorganic junction composed of hydrogenated titania nanotubes infiltrated by a conducting polymer

Abstract: A poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) conducting polymer doped with poly(2-styrene sulfonate) (pEDOT:PSS) was efficiently electrodeposited on a layer composed of ordered titania nanotubes.

“…Based on the proposed deconvolution, the share of the dehydrated NiO in the TiO 2 NTs decorated with NiNPs is around 20%. However, it should be noted that the observed change is not parallel with the modification of TiO 2 chemistry, based on recorded Ti2p spectra ( Figure 4 d), with Ti2p 3/2 peaking at 459.0 eV [ 61 , 62 ]. Finally, the O1s spectra for Ni colloid ( Figure 4 b) reveal the presence of multiple components; therefore, two spectral components were proposed for deconvolution.…”

“…Annealed titania nanotubes and titania nanotubes covered by BiVO 4 were exposed to cathodic polarization in 1 M H 2 SO 4 electrolyte. The potential of the working electrode during hydrogenation was equal to −1.5 V vs Ag/AgCl (0.1 M KCl) and the process lasted for 60 s. The hydrogenation process significantly affects TiO 2 conductivity and specific capacitance [34]. After the hydrogenation process samples were named as Ti/TiO 2 :H/BiVO 4 :H.…”
