Histological and Nuclear Medical Comparison of Inflammation After Hemostasis with Non‐Thermal Plasma and Thermal Coagulation

Abstract: The objective of this study is to examine the invasiveness of hemostasis by non‐thermal plasma (NTP) compared with hemostasis by thermal coagulation (TC). The inflammation recovery process after hemostasis by TC and NTP was compared by using histological methods and nuclear medical molecular imaging. The necrotic areas in the NTP group disappeared after 5 days, whereas they remained 15 days after hemostasis in the TC group. The accumulation of 2‐deoxy‐2‐[18F]fluoro‐d‐glucopyranose (18F‐FDG), which reflects the… Show more

“…At 52 min after injection, a 15-min PET scan followed by a 5-min CT scan were performed using Triumph LabPET12/SPECT4/CT (TriFoil Imaging Inc., Chatsworth, CA, USA) under 2.5% isoflurane anesthesia. 25 Parameters for both scans and for image reconstruction were adjusted as per those used in a previous report. 26 After PET/CT imaging, the mice were killed, and each tumor was removed and frozen for further analysis.…”

“…Moreover, they are effective in activating the immune system in the treatment of atopic dermatitis and relieving patients of pruritus [ 80 , 117 ]. Tissue regeneration has been observed from the treatment of facial skin to smooth wrinkles and blood vessels to speed up coagulation [ 77 , 78 , 81 ]. It is also important that little side effects have been observed [ 44 , 118 ] thereby boding well for clinical applications [ 119 , 120 ].…”
