Abstract:Summary
The lipid metabolism changes due to acute and chronic toxicity of Metasystox‐R (0,0‐dimethyl‐S‐2(ethyl sulphinyl ethylthiophosphonate) and Lebaycid (dimethyl‐3‐methyl‐4‐methyl thiosphenyl phosphorothionate) have not been previously studied. The histopathological and lipid metabolism changes in brain, spinal cord, sciatic nerves, liver, kidney and thigh muscles of white Leghorn, male chicks caused by chronic toxicity due to Metasystox‐R and Lebaycid were, therefore, studied. Lebaycid and Metasystox‐R pr… Show more
Organophosphorus compounds with various aspects of their modes of action, toxicity and antidotal treatment have been briefly reviewed. Their clinical, pathological and biochemical effects on different species of domestic animals are also described.
