Abstract:Thin structured sheet metals promise high potential concerning lightweight design in industrial applications regarding the classical mechanical engineering and vehicle construction as well as the aeronautics. Compared to flat, unstructured sheet metals the component stiffness and buckling behavior can significantly be improved by structuring especially in out of plane direction. To be able to calculate the elastic behavior of large structures from structured sheet metals a mechanical surrogate model is develop… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
