Abstract: Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is a treatment for acute climacteric syndrome, with the best effectivity. It also prevents bone loss and fractures. Ischemic heart disease prevention and cognitive function improvement have been observed with HRT, only when started early (critical window hypothesis).
