How often is urgent surgery required to address transcatheter mitral valve repair complications?

Abstract: Key Points TMVr use is likely to continue to grow as experience with the technology increases. The authors found that surgical bailout for complications after TMVr is relatively infrequent (1.42%) and decreased during the study period. Data such as those provided by this report are welcome, as they provide reassurance and assist our effort to make therapy options available to patients who need them.
