How to use the cosmological Schwinger principle for energy flux, entropy, and "atoms of space–time" to create a thermodynamic space–time and multiverse

Abstract: Abstract. We make explicit an idea by Padmanabhan in DICE 2010 [1], as to finding "atoms of space-time" permitting a thermodynamic treatment of emergent structure similar to Gibbs treatment of statistical physics. That is, an ensemble of gravitons is used to give an "atom" of space-time congruent with relic GW. The idea is to reduce the number of independent variables to get a simple emergent space-time structure of entropy. An electric field, based upon the cosmological Schwinger principle, is linked to relic… Show more

“…One of the primary results is A. W. Beckwith Journal of High Energy Physics, Gravitation and Cosmology reconciling the difference in degrees of freedom versus a discussion of dimensions. Also, as Equation (12) occurs, there will be a buildup in the number of degrees of freedom, from a very low initial level to a higher one, as in the Gaussian mapping [20] [ ]…”

“…Here, the term g * is for degrees of freedom of the universe, which is usually of the order of 100, [21] but the author got figures in the ballpark of about 1000, in [22]. Either it is of the sort where Λ remains invariant, or else we have to say [23] [ ] This has to be worked out, for the obvious reasons, as well as looking at, if we have an iterative process for the generation of g * along the lines of looking at an iterative dynamical systems mapping, i.e.…”

“…One scenario being the authors speculation as to initial degrees of freedom reaching up to 1000, and the nature of a phase transition from essentially very low degrees of freedom, to over 1000 as speculated by the author in 2010 [12]. 4) What the author would be particularly interested in knowing would be if actual semiclassical reasoning could be used to get to an initial prequantum cosmological state.…”
