HPLC Analysis and Molecular Docking Study of Myoporum serratum Seeds Extract with Its Bioactivity against Pathogenic Microorganisms and Cancer Cell Lines

Abstract: Natural constituents have been utilized to avoid humanity from various diseases, such as microbial infection and cancer, over several decades due to bioactive compounds. Myoporum serratum seeds extract (MSSE) was formulated via HPLC for flavonoid and phenolic analysis. Moreover, antimicrobial via well diffusion method, antioxidant via 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging method, anticancer activities against HepG-2 cells (human hepatocellular cancer cell line), and MCF-7 cells (human breast … Show more

“…As mentioned previously, H. pylori was inhibited by L. nobilis leaf extract with an inhibition zone of 24 mm at 200 mg/mL [16]. Secondary metabolites of the plant have been recommended as possible alternatives for the treatment of H. pylori as well as other microbes [17][18][19][20][21][22]. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a chronic neurodegenerative disease that is considered one of the most common health issues in the world, and its prevalence is increasing among the elderly population [23].…”

“…These peaks (which consisted of compounds like 1,2,3,4,6-Pentatrimethylsilyl Glucopyranose, Trimethylsilyl ether-glucitol and Octadecanamide, N-(2-methyl propyl)-N-nitroso) could be attributable to amino acid residues in protein molecules, since these compounds are linear nitrogenous compounds have long carbon chains (C16-C18) which can contribute with better interaction and can be protonated in the presence of other compounds (Rocha et al, 2020), indicating the production of certain proteinic substances into cell-free filtrate of Aspergillus niger DS22 (ON076463.1). On the other side, as a result of its anti-angiogenesis implications and controlling functions of signal pathways such as autophagy, apoptosis, and the arrest of the cell cycle of cancer cells, oridonin is frequently utilized for relieving pain and inflammation associated with cancer such as carcinoma of the liver, cancer of the breast, carcinoma of the gall bladder, cervical carcinoma, Several bioactive Compared with other fungi, Aspergillus species is one of the most prevalent Antiangiogenic, antioxidant, and antitumorigenic effectiveness (Niero et al, 2013;Mashraqi et al, 2023).…”

“…Many biological activities were documented in other investigations utilizing these flavonoid and phenolic compounds. For instance, antiangiogenic, antioxidant, and antitumorigenic effectiveness were attributed to cinnamic acid (Niero et al, 2013;Mashraqi et al, 2023). Gallic acid has been investigated to have anti-HCV activity, and immunomodulatory effects (Bai et al, 2021;Mashraqi et al, 2023).…”
