Abstract:The so-called hybrid stress boundary element method (HSBEM) is introduced in a frequency domain formulation for the computation of acoustic radiation and scattering in closed and infinite domains. Different from other boundary element formulations, the HSBEM is based on an extended Hellinger-Reissner variational principle and leads to a Hermitian, frequency-dependent stiffness equation. Due to this, the method is very well suited for treating fluidstructure interaction problems since the effort for the couplin… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
