Abstract:This study investigates the creation of hybrid exact-approximate, analytic hypersonic aerodynamic relations for a wide range of vehicle classes to support conceptual design. This is accomplished by performing exact, analytic integrations of the Newtonian pressure coefficient over the unshadowed surface of the vehicle where possible and analytically approximating the remaining terms. Comparisons with a panel method validate the analytic solutions formed for arbitrary bodies of revolution with profiles described… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
