Hydrazine Hydrate Induced Three-Dimensional Interconnected Porous Flower-like 3D-NiCo-SDBS-LDH Microspheres for High-Performance Supercapacitor

Abstract: Porous structure and surface defects are important to improve the performance of supercapacitors. In this study, a facile pathway was developed for high-performance supercapacitors, which can produce transition metal hydroxides (LDHs) with abundant porous structure and surface defects. The NiCo-SDBS-LDH was prepared by one-step hydrothermal reaction using sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDBS) as anionic surfactant. And then, three dimensional (3D) interconnected porous flower-like 3D-NiCo-SDBS-LDH microsphere… Show more

“…Figure c). Figure d shows the high-resolution spectrum of Co 2p, with the main peaks centered at 779.00, 780.60, and 781.95 eV matching to Co 0 , Co 3+ , and Co 2+ , respectively, while 784.05 and 787.35 eV corresponded to the oscillating satellite peaks of Co 2+ and Co 3+ , respectively. , It is worth mentioning that the appearance of oxidized transition metals could be because the surface of NiCo alloy particles was easy to be partially oxidized in air or moist air. In addition, Table S2 in the Supporting Information lists the contents of the C, O, Ni, and Co elements in GNS, aGNS, and NiCo-GNS.…”

“…Porous structures and surface defects are important factors in improving the performance of supercapacitors. Zhong et al 224 prepared NiCo-SDBS-LDHs by a one-step hydrothermal method using sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDBS) as the anionic surfactant. Then, 3D connected porous flower-like 3D-NiCo-SDBS-LDH microspheres were designed and synthesized using the gas-phase hydrazine hydrate reduction method (Fig.…”

“…The dispersion of CNFs using surfactants like dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDBS) and biopolymers such as chitosan (CS) has been shown to further enhance the hydrophilicity, biocompatibility, and electrochemical properties of the anode, paving the way for more efficient and robust MFC systems [19][20][21]. Such functionalization techniques have been shown to promote a better dispersion of CNFs on the electrode surface, leading to improved electrochemical activity and stability [22]. The use of SDBS as an anionic surfactant has been particularly effective in achieving stable aqueous dispersions of CNFs, with the π-π stacking induced by the benzene ring in SDBS playing an important role in this stabilization [23].…”
