Abstract:In order to prevent hydrogen entry into steels, the effect of the plasma nitriding treatment on the hydrogen permeation behavior of pre irons was investigated in this study. The plasma nitriding was performed in a nitrogen-hydrogen atmosphere composed of 75 % N 2 -25 % H 2 at 400 ºC and 600 Pa for 3.6 ks. The nitrogen compound layer was composed of -Fe 2-3 N and '-Fe 4 N phases, and its thickness was ca. 2.8 m. The hydrogen permeation tests revealed that the hydrogen absorption efficiency of the nitrided pu… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
