Hydrogenic Impurity Bands in an External Magnetic Field

Abstract

A method used previously to investigate the influence of charged donors on t,he density of states when an impurity band is formed is extended to the rase when a magnetic field is present. The density of states is calculated for various magnetic fields for concentrations typical of InSb at the metal-insulator transition. For sufficicntly low concentrations splitting of the baud can take place as in the absence of a magnetic field.
