Hydrothermal Synthesis, Crystal Structure and Properties of a 2D Network of Cd(II) Coordination Polymers with Helical Chains

Abstract: Hydrothermal reaction of Cd(II) acetate with the bridging ligand m-H 4 bptc (m-H 4 bptc = biphenyl-2,3 ,3,4 -tetracarboxylic acid) yielded a new 2D metal-organic coordination polymer with helical chains in the solid state namelyThe helices are further connected through hydrogen bonds to give a threedimensional supramolecular network. The thermal stability of complex 1 was studied by thermogravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). Compound 1 exhibits photoluminescence with an emission maximum at… Show more

“…On the other hand, dipyridine and its analogs as neutral linkers or chelating ligands are widely used as excellent auxiliary spacers in the construction of novel supramolecular compounds [7][8][9][10][11]. In these coordination polymers, supramolecular contacts (hydrogen bonding, p-p stacking, etc.)…”

“…Recently, as eries of multidimensional metal-organic coordination supramolecular complexes constructed from 1,1'-biphenyl-2,2',3,3'-tetracarboxylic acid (H 4 bptc) [ 2,3] and 1,1'-biphenyl-2,3',3,4'-tetracarboxylic acid (m-H 4 bptc) ligands have been reported [4,5]. H 4 bptc and m-H 4 bptc has proved to be agood candidate for the construction of distinct coordination polymers with high-dimensional networks and interesting properties because of its diverse coordination modes and high structural stability.…”
