Abstract:Spin polarization and entanglement are utilized by the BESIII experiment to learn more about the production and decay properties of hyperon-antihyperon pairs in a series of recent analyses of its unprecedented datasets at the J/\psiJ/ψ and \psi'ψ′ resonances. This has lead to the observation of significant transverse polarisation in decays of J/\psiJ/ψ or \psi'ψ′ into \Lambda \bar{\Lambda}ΛΛ‾, \Sigma \bar{\Sigma}ΣΣ‾, \Xi \bar{\Xi}ΞΞ‾, and \Omega \bar{\Omega}ΩΩ‾. Because of the non-zero polarization, the decay … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
