Abstract:The hypothalamus plays a crucial role in regulating feeding behavior in fish. In this Review, we aim to summarise current knowledge on specific mechanisms for sensing glucose, fatty acids and amino acids in fish, and to consider how this information is integrated in the hypothalamus to modulate feed intake.
