Clostridium difficile colitis and peritoneal dialysis associated peritonitis: ‘Difficile’ treatment considerations

Abstract: Peritoneal dialysis (PD) associated peritonitis is the leading cause of PD discontinuation and haemodialysis transfer. Current guidelines strongly recommend prompt initiation of empiric broad-spectrum intraperitoneal antibiotics, with suspected peritonitis.
